The republicans are playing dirty dirty tricks with the global economy.

The world markets are back into freefall following the lower house rejecting the bailout plan.

The rescue plan, a result of tense talks between the government and lawmakers, was rejected by 228 to 205 votes in the House of Representatives.

Speaking after the vote, Republican leaders in the House of Representatives suggested the Democrats were to blame, accusing them of failing to mobilise their majority in the chamber.

That's a nasty trick to pull. Two thirds of the republicans voted the bill down only 95 democrats voted it down and yet it's somehow Barack Obama's fault for not whipping the democrat vote.

If this reflects badly on anyone, it's John McCain and Sarah Palin.
