Someone emailed me to ask where the title of the blog came from.
I'll be really honest with you: it's not a nudge in the ribs from a friend saying "By the way... did I tell you..."
It's a direct quote from the Willy Wonka song "I Want It Now". At the opening of the song Veruca Salt is talking/singing at her ever loving Dad.
Veruca Salt:
Gooses! Geeses!
I want my geese to lay gold eggs for Easter
Mr. Salt:
It will, sweetheart
Veruca:
At least a hundred a day
Mr.Salt:
Anything you say
Veruca:
And by the way
Mr. Salt:
What?
Veruca:
I want a feast.
Mr. Salt:
You ate before you came to the factory
Veruca:
I want a bean feast!
It's the "by the way..." there.
The wonderful moment is at 33 seconds. It's great. That's the by the way that I hope to embody in my blogging. Slightly annoying, slightly distrubing, warning of something far worse to come... *grins*
