Once a month pay day rolls around and I usually get itchy fingers.

There's usually a DVD out there that I just can't live to be without.

And usually I spend spend spend without any kind of "buyers remorse".

Don't get me wrong, I'm not worried about spending the cash... I just don't feel the burn this month. (Am sure there's a Yiddish word for what I'm suffering from... just wish I had Alex Wright around to tell me what it was)

I've got a number of things in my Amazon wishlist but I've just had several weeks of purging from that and I don't feel the burn to buy from it.

Maybe it's a pre-empitve move ready for next week. (Yes, I know it's my birthday)

The Wire has been amazing but I really had to force myself to sit and watch episode after gritty episode of police fighting with dockers and drug dealers. It's very good... but I'd like something light please. I deal with drug dealers and Polish dockers enough at work... oh hang on... wait, no I don't.

Boston Legal has a new series out... and, trust me, I never thought I'd type this- William Shatner is a revelation. He and James Spader make a wonderful team.

Maybe I've been spoilt over the last couple of months. Arrested Development, Band of brothers, Intacto, Downfall, Summer Storm, Juno, Diving bell and the butterfly, cloverfield, Lost season 3 (yes I know I'm behind), Heroes. And also the comforting familiarity of The West Wing and Family Guy.

I'm not renouncing DVD's as a source of comfort in my life. And I'd love to point the finger of blame at one Ms Roz Campion, the one who put me onto Love Film and spoilt my DVD buying habits. Wait, I just did. ;-)

What's a boy to do with his hard earned cash? Shall I go back to barricading myself in my flat with books? I could always venture out into, you know, the real world and be sociable...
